Scientific Research and
Experimental Development
Kronos Technologies research activities are designed to enhance the user experience and meet professional and personal needs. These activities are centered around two major axes:
- Creating innovative tools for enhanced Kronos Web engineering: quality and traceability processes, development speed, technical quality and product ergonomics
- Optimizing methods and tools to facilitate the scaling-up process associated with managing large amounts of information by using Kronos Web products
Research work conducted by Kronos Technologies is recognized by the National Research Council of Canada and the government of Quebec.
Research Projects
Kronos Web Application Framework
With the Kronos Web application framework, it is possible to develop applications quickly and effectively. For example, this particular framework allows people to create data forms on single or multiple screens in addition to providing easy navigation between these forms for a fraction of the regular price.
- Reduce development costs by 75%
- Integrate advanced Web technologies such as 2.0, XML, XSL, XPATH, XHTML, CSS and Javascript
- Give access to an open-ended, expandable modular system
SyncML Server
SyncML is the specification of a data synchronization architecture based on XML. In fact, it is a protocol used to synchronize data found on devices connected intermittently to two networks (Internet and cell phone) available on a continuous basis. SyncML is specially designed to synchronize data from service networks and mobile devices when they are structured differently and operating on heterogeneous systems. It is also the name of the consortium (Ericsson, IBM, Lotus, Motorola, Nokia, Psion and a few others) that is responsible for creating this standard.
Goals:
- Perform reliable synchronizations of all data shared between Kronos, other Web applications and the majority of mobile devices
- Preserve data integrity on server and other mobile devices
- Synchronize in two directions with conflict management
- Remain an integrated component of Kronos Web
XML Import Server
The "XML Import" research project is a complete and innovative technology that makes it easier to import external data onto Kronos Web. It allows you to quickly import all system types (Act!, Outlook, GoldMine, Maximizer, Access etc.) onto Kronos Web and maximize conversion quality.
Goals:- Reduce development time and offer you instant savings for the best possible price
- Allow automated validation while providing high quality data migration
- Effectively handle duplication and other conflicting data
- Offer high-level APIs to programmers
Merge Letters and Web Tags
Kronos Web was one of the first companies to test the new ODT technologies (OpenOffice 2) and OpenDocument (Microsoft Office 2007). We have finely tuned a letter merging library that directly implements data formats (.odt and .docx) from the latest office suites on the market. This new technology offers you an easy-to-use mass mailing function integrated into Kronos Web.
